Lake Chelan

We had our annual family trip to Lake Chelan last week. Hot. It was hot. Normally, I'm a pool kind of gal. This time I spent the whole trip in the lake. As you know, David was sick for a bunch of it, but that didn't seem to put too much of a damper on things. We went to the waterpark without him and had a great time. Well, my legs ache from climbing all those hills, but it's worth it to slide down them. We also all went bowling. I am so dreadfully inconsistent: lots of gutter balls and then the occasional strike. The kids still rely on the bumpers and we are thinking it's time for them to get bowling lessons, and perhaps a refresher for me.

We have the standard complications of lots of people pulling in lots of directions. Dad and Barb would probably prefer to go out to dinner. My family would prefer to have leftovers sitting on the floor. It was an interesting transition year. Dad and Barb used to bring an entire carload of toys for the kids: doll babies, doll baby strollers, doll baby clothes, full tea sets. . . This year we brought group games like Sushi Go, One Night Ultimate Werewolf, and Snake Oil. They worked very well.
