Some of you have already got the punch line--no water in the waterfall. Not so beautiful but the chance to climb in normally secret places.

Coal Creek Trail was our 4th planned hike of the summer. It's a great reminder of Seattle's coal mining history. We weren't always high tech and coffee. I am so grateful for my friends for joining me. This time we had Elizabeth, Evie, Juliana, my sister and kids, mom, me, Rose, and Scarlet. David didn't go because he was in coding camp. So, no boys. The girls sang camp songs the whole way and made me extremely happy.

It ended up being an easy hike on many fronts--close to the city, 600 ft. elevation gain, 4 miles, and cool weather. I'm not sure I'd do it again, but I'm very happy not to take 1.5 hours to drive home.
