I'm not going to change my opinion just because someone tells me to, unless it's my mom trying to get me to be more open-minded. I am an accepting and tolerant person on issues, too. But please enlighten me, is "skinny person issues" as worse as the GLBT community facing homelessness due to parents not accepting them, suicide due to rejection by society where they live, and discrimination by others who don't understand? Or what about African Americans and Africans, who are stereotyped as "lazy" and "dumb", even though they are not? Plus, African Americans and Africans dealt with slavery because Caucasian people viewed themselves superior to Africans and African Americans. I think not. But you can try enlightening me though with your argument. Doesn't mean you get the right to yell at me for having a different opinion than yours. Don't forget, slavery involved death too.

I don't understand why this guy I argued with about this issue (a brother of a high school friend of mine) was so defensive about it.
