Rob has new glasses! Yesterday he took off from work a bit early because he had a 5pm appointment with the Optometrist at the LensCrafters in Sherman Oaks. When he got home from work we got Gabriel ready to go out and headed over to the Sherman Oaks mall. He got his eyes checked and I grumbled at how amazingly weak his prescription is (I'm blind without my glasses). He picked out a new pair of frames (they needed to be a complete frame and not a half one like his old pair because his lens were too thin for their half frames... my lenses, even with the specially made thin lenses, are usually too thick for most frames) and we headed to the food court to get dinner while they made his glasses. After dinner he picked up his completed glasses and we headed home. They look good on him and I don't notice "hey Rob has new glasses" whenever I see him which I'm thinking means that they're a good compliment to his face.

Glasses are expensive. Sheesh. We couldn't use our insurance there, but they did give us a AAA discount. The eye exam only came to about $35 with that. But the glasses and frames were around $340 even with the discount!

When we got home from the mall last night we just relaxed a bit. We watched the finale of Big Brother, played with Gabriel, and got in a little bit of gaming.

Today Rob has a third interview with one of the places in Wisconsin and a second interview with another place tomorrow. The one he has today is another follow up to the one he had last week. He's really jazzed about this place and is hoping they'll make him an offer. I hope so too. If he gets an offer during either of this week's interviews we then have to try and get out to the Midwest sometime next week. If not, he's going to ask for time off at the end of October and try to spend my birthday and Halloween at my Mom's place and apartment hunt while we're out there. We really would like to be out there before the new year - whether or not we have a job out there.

As I mentioned in a previous entry, Gabriel is now getting in two teeth. Both of the two bottom front ones are coming in. One's showing more than the other, but I think this accounts for all of the fussiness. Speaking of which he started screaming right when Rob left for work this morning and when I cuddled him I got some nice baby puke all over my sleep shirt. So, that's in the laundry now and I'm dead tired. I didn't sleep well last night and I got no sleep this morning. I guess it's one of those Red Bull sleepy haze days for me! We got Gabriel to eat a few spoonfulls of applesauce yesterday before he caught on that he didn't like it. *sigh* My new goal is to find some sort of fruit, veggie, and meat that he likes. At least he likes the rice cereal!

Take the quiz:
What kind of King are you?

Philosopher King
You are a philosopher king! thoughtful and wise, you believe that there is definately a right and wrong way of doing things, even if we don't know it yet, and you think that search is worthwhile. You are concerned not so much with democracy and liberalism/conservatism so much as doing the right thing independant of the majority's opinion and conventions. You have never existed in history, but are a goal that many hope to achieve, offering divine insight and wisdom unto subjects to create a utopic city-state. Ideally, that is.
