My head hurts

Ugh, my head hurts and I'm starting to run a fever. Suck. I've been gone for the past few days and thought I'd do a catch-up entry.

Saturday morning I took my car out for a nice long drive to make sure the battery was fully charged before heading away for a few days. Around 12:30pm, Rob, Gabriel, and I headed out to my Mom's place in Galena. The drive out there was uneventful and went well. We made a stop at a gas station so that we could all use the bathroom and Gabriel grabbed a bag of Cheetos for the rest of the ride.

When we got to my Mom's place we unpacked and chilled out for a bit before heading out to Dirty Gurtz Burger Joynt for dinner. Dinner was yummy and when we were done we headed back to her place for the night.

On Sunday we made a Walmart run and then headed into Dubuque. We did a mall run and mainly looked around at Borders and Baby Gap (where we got Gabriel a sweater with a skull and crossbones on it and a bat shirt that was on sale - he loves bats). Gabriel looked around the Halloween store and was not happy when Rob tried to get him out of there.

We had dinner at House of China (my favorite Chinese restaurant) and then headed back to my Mom's place to watch The Amazing Race.

Monday was my 35th birthday. We went to lunch at The Paraside in Galena and I got to see my Mom's friend Kenny (who owns the place) again. It was raining, so we weren't able to walk around the town like I had wanted to do. My tattoo appointment was at 4pm with Gary. Now, back in Los Angeles I usually went to Sunset Strip Tattoo. The guys there are all very good and are the ones who usually get the rock stars as their clients. Gary is leaps and bounds more talented than those artists are. His work never ceases to amaze me and my new turtle tattoo is no exception. It's gorgeous and the photos that Rob took of it right when it as done do not do it justice. Yes, at some point I will post pics here (and on Envisage) of the new tat. Just now now. Maybe next week. I'll also do more when the tattoo heals.

We had dinner that night at the Log Cabin (I love their saganaki and steak) and then headed back to my Mom's and watched So You Think You Can Dance.

Today, we headed back home. Rob's taking the week off, but we have errands to get done and needed to take care of Sydney. The drive home was good and we made a pit stop at the rest stop on the Illinois/Wisconsin border to use the bathroom and we got Gabriel some cookies for the rest of the ride home.

When we got home, we found out that our mailboxes for our building had fallen down... yet again. So, we headed to the post office to pick up our mail. We took my car and it started just fine. I'll make sure to drive it around alot before we leave for another vacay for Halloween.

We unpacked and grabbed take out from a local Indian restaurant for dinner. We came back home and watched Dance and I'm getting a few things done on here since Gabriel is still awake.

I really don't feel all that good right now. I have a migraine (and my meds are doing nothing to help it), a low grade fever, and feel somewhat nauseous. Blah.
