Deadly sins

After doing a bit of research into the seven deadly sins (which are apparently the same as the carindal and mortal sins, but not to be confused with venial sins, which are for lightweight sinners, since there is no permanent damnation involved), I found this site with an interesting history of the sins and their associated animals and colors. Why is blue associated with lust? Why not the more obvious red? And dogs as the poster animals for envy?

Last year I attended a conference in Las Vegas (the first time I had ever been there) and stayed in one of the newer hotels - the Mandalay Bay, I believe. The soaps in the hotel were these amazing blue glycerine bars - small, and sleek, and with an amazing fragrance. A few months ago I was at another conference and was seated at dinner across from one of our clients. She had also attended the conference in Las Vegas. She also took home as many bars of the blue soap as possible and also noted the beautiful smell. I am now finishing my last bar of the soap. As the bars have grown smaller, they also seem to lose their fragrance - am I imagining this, or is it because of the smaller surface area, or is the smell really concentrated in the outer layers? My blue soap days will soon be over and I'll move on to another bar also undoutbedly swiped from a hotel.

Exercise: well, I did wipe off a few of the cloudier surfaces in the bathroom.

Books: I tried to read The Darkness Gathers by Lisa Miscione, but even the first few pages couldn't hold my attention. There are far too many worthwhile books to waste time reading those that don't draw me in immediately. I'm now trying Scott Free by John Gilstrap.

Music: None. Although I have noticed that WXPN, my station of choice in Philadelphia, has stopped calling itself "commercial free", which it is not, and now only refers to itself as "member supported". This was one of the reasons I stopped supporting them a couple of years ago (along with some serious billing issues).

Movies: None. I received two from Netflix today - All Over the Guy and The Anniversary Party. I have no idea what possessed me to rent either of these.

Cats: Tabitha gets a bowl of Lactaid twice a day while the other two cats are penned up in the pantry with a couple of treats (Cat Catchers - the cheapest treats the grocery store offers). She only drinks an ounce or so and leaves a little that Xena drinks up when she's released from her kitty prison. Only, the last few days, Tabitha has been drinking less than usual and Xena has not been finishing up the remainder. The milk was still fresh according to the expiration date, so what's up? (As an aside, I cannot stomach the thought of drinking anything other than 1% milk - there is something about other dairy products that gives me the heebie-jeebies. I cannot drink Lactaid, soy milk, or even skim milk because my mind, or stomach, thinks there's something wrong with them, even though I know there isn't.)
