A Rhinovirus is sitting on my head

Yesterday I spent the day huddled under a blanket, sitting in a chair trying to read when my head would clear sufficiently. Everything ached and I made sure everyone in the vicinity knew that so that I would receive appropriate amounts of tea and sympathy. You know that when your scalp hurts, it's a nasty cold. When you think that your hair has grown nerve endings because it too begins to scream with pain you have an unusually virulent version of a cold. Today I woke up feeling marginally better (probably the glass of champagne I had last night to celebrate New Years), although shadows of the aches are still in residence.

Books: Loyalty in Death by J.D. Robb. Another police procedural set in the not-so-distant future which is actually a thinly disguised romance novel. It was all my poor clogged brain could handle yesterday.

Movies: Psycho Beach Party. This was Caitlin's choice for TV viewing last evening. A campy spoof of both 1960s teen beach movies, horror movies, and the movie-within-movie genre. Several recognizable faces - the guy from Dharma and Greg, Lauren Ambrose from Six Feet Under, and one of the aunts from the old Sabrina TV show. I annoyed Caitlin endlessly by continuing to guess at who the murderer was after each broad clue was revealed.
