As I was sorting through the mail today (catalog, catalog, ad, catalog, bill, credit card offer that screams DO NOT THROW ME AWAY) I found a flyer. These are fairly common and are mainly for cleaning services, painting services, driveway sealer services, etc. This was titled Doo-Doo Collector and offered to come to my house and pick up my dog's doo doo so that I don't have to. It also told me that this service was "finally" available in my neighborhood - apparently there has been an outcry for this service that is loud, insistent and continuous (and here I thought that was just the presidential campaigns). This shows that baby boomers will hire people to do anything for them - the service industries are the way to get rich. Come to think of it, I'll have to tuck that flyer away in the event that we actually get a dog. I wonder if they'd do cat litter too?

I just found out today that I am an officer of my company (all so that I can sign contracts if need be). Do I get a badge? A gun? A car? A discount at the company store or the cafeteria? No to all of the above. Perks just aren't what they used to be.

Books: Blow Fly by Patricia Cornwell. Rough and ragged ending after a lot of exposition that led nowhere. She seemed to be rushing to finish this up, driven either by a deadline or a page limit. Way too many storylines and an overly obvious lead-in to the next book in the series.
