2007-10-19 9:32 PM Hey! That's HAIL! Read/Post Comments (1) |
And was it ever! I've seen hail fall before but today was a stunner. Began with sun, and looked nice. Within 2 hours, it had gotten much darker. I still thought I could make it to Monkey Grind - my Friday coffee hangout (my every day hangout if I could afford it!) and maybe the bank. Hah. At MG about 20 minutes and it began to rain. A lot. Then it began to hail. A LOT. And it kept coming. Loud, for at least 10 minutes. Then more rain. LOTS of it.
Happily, I got home without sliding but holy smokes! "Severe weather" always interests me but no one was even predicting a major hail storm. It didn't even make it onto most reports. Stu, over on the east side didn't notice any during the day, but when he got home tonight he confirmed we still had little piles of hailstones, like those piles of snow you get when the sun doesn't reach that particular corner of the yard, you know? Amazing stuff. After all that, yes, we did get a rainbow. As well we should, I say. Is it strange where you are? Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
