Ahhhh....Pirates.

FINALLY got to go see Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Mr. P was out of town when it was released and then since he's been back we've been catching up on all sorts of other things, I guess. Each day we would plan to go and then something else would come up. Finally yesterday we decided to do the matinee. It was a great 3 hours - that passed in what seemed like closer to 2. Or something. Anyway, at no point during the movie did I wonder how much longer there was in the movie...which is a positive thing because I've been known to do that in 2 hour movies...and even in 1 1/2 hour movies. So, I guess that says that it was quite fast-moving.

Y'all know me pretty well and know that I would love a movie that featured Johnny Depp even if it had him cleaning toilets (although I would venture to guess that Johnny wouldn't be as fond of that movie as one in which he plunders and pillages). That said, this was wonderful. I must say that Capt'n Jack is looking fiiiiiine. Perhaps the best we've seen him. The eye-liner is dark, heavily applied and smudged just perfectly. His signature smirks are there as is the swagger. I'm a sucker for dialogue (yeah, yeah, I know...when you have Capt'n Jack on the screen, who needs dialogue, right?) and must contend that the dialogue of POTC: The Black Pearl still exceeds this one, but I'm more than happy, all the same.

Yes, the story is sometimes confusing but that only gives me all the more reason to go see it again (like I *need* a reason. heh). I have a feeling I'll be wearing this DVD out, just like the other two.

And, I don't want to give anything away to those of you who haven't seen it (are there any of you out there?), so I won't discuss any plot here but I don't think I'm giving anything away by saying that they certainly left it open for another POTC in the future. I have no idea if it'll happen, but I would absolutely welcome it!

For those of you who have not seen it yet...make sure that you sit through the credits. You'll be paid in spades. I always sit through them anyway, because, yeah, I'm a dork like that. However, I *know* that some of you hate people like me.

*looks around*

You claim that you don't like to crawl over me to get out of the row. *shakes head* Crawling over me can be fun. *nods* Trust me. heh.

Something to think about: "Ladies! Will you please shut it! Listen to me. Yes, I lied to you. No, I don't love you. Of course it makes you look fat. I've never been to Brussels. It is pronounced "egregious". By the way, no, I've never actually met Pizarro but I love his pies. And all of this pales into utter insignificance in light of the fact that my ship is once again gone. Savvy?"

~Capt'n Jack to Giselle and Scarlett

Soundtrack: Beautifully...nothing.
