I've been too busy to do justice to my journal, so I've been ignoring it lately. I keep wanting to write entries, but by the time I get to it, I just want to go to bed, it's quite frustrating.

But anyway, I'm alive and pretty much back to normal. The virus didn't kill me. The forced 3 days of staying home wasn't the best time I've ever had off of work, but if the doctor hadn't ordered it I wouldn't have done it and would have had a much longer recovery. The problem with teaching physics is that I can't just have the students contine teaching/learning the material without me. Physics just doesn't work that way, at least not for high school students. So while I was gone they mostly got to just sit on their butts during class.

So, we're having a door decorating contest at school for Halloween, and my class decided to enter it. Our theme is a hospital, and we had fun with it. The hospital name is pretty funny (IMHO). It's Kaiser Permanente (with the "e" crossed out and "ly dead" added). Many of the students then brought in small pumpkins decorated with their method of dying. We have chop sticks through the eyes, bullet casings (stuck into the pumpkin as if it's been shot), rhino goring and everything. It was fun to put together and I hope we do well. We'll see.

I'm trying to finish LB's halloween costume and have been quite frustrated. It's done except for the trim and the hems, but I've not been able to find ANY decent trim. It's sooooo irritating. Jo-ann's has NOTHING and I've been trying all week to meet up with an SCA seller, but it keeps not working out. Today would have worked out except for the whole car issue.

Yeah, the car issue, right. Here goes Aargh #2. After I picked LB up from day care, my car wouldn't start. I was able to get it started by popping the clutch and so LB and I went off to class. After class it started OK, so I headed home. I got most of the way home and noticed that the temp gauge was WAY over where it normally is, so I called PHil to come meet me at the service station that's been working on it. So he did. I headed to the service station to drop it off. Luckily I caught the guy just as he was trying to leave and they'll look at it tomorrow. And then off we went to rent me a car for tomorrow (on the way I started to think that my parents' extra cars lying around are not always such a bad idea!!). But anyway, got a car, but at that time it was too late to go look at trim-needed daylight. So another day without trim, UGH!!!

I don't know what I'm going to do about it, as I don't know if I'll be able to get out there tomorrow either. But the trim I've found elsewhere SUCKS. Maybe LB will have to be trimless, poor boy.

OK, OK, sorry, bitch bitch, moan moan. I'm done.
