As I was driving to meet my mother Sunday morning a small piece of rainbow appeared in the sky. As I continued to drive, the piece got bigger and bigger until the full rainbow crossed the entire sky.

As a physics teacher and someone with a degree in Physics, I understand exactly how rainbows are made. Even so, their beauty is not lost on me.

I've often times had my students complain that now that they understand them, things like bubbles and rainbows lose their beauty. I disagree.
