Our last full day in Canmore was a mixed bag. We weren't really sure what we wanted to do anyway but we though maybe a hike.

In the morning, Phil and LB went for a walk. During the walk it started to rain just a little bit. The weather looked like it was thinking about raining. We had some shopping to do so after they returned from their walk along policeman's creek (the creek that runs by the plase that the RCMP barracks used to be, we headed into town, also on foot. We figured that if it started raining hard we'd just hide out in one of the many stores. As luck would have it, it didn't rain on us until we were headed back to the condo, and even then it wasn't that bad.

So we went looking for some gifts and had something of a tough time finding stuff that we liked that we thought others would like. And we wanted Canadian stuff too. Nothing grabbed either of us much so we finally settled on a few things. I won't say what here, 'cause recipients read the journal. LB also found a stuffed teddy bear that he really wanted. He had some money that Nana and Gramps had given him a while ago and he decided that he wanted the bear. So he now has a new teddy bear. It's in a lying down position with legs splayed out. It's a grizzly bear, and just before his nap today (Sunday) when asked what he wanted to name it, he decided to name it Christopher. We don't know whey, we didn't ask why, but OK.

Then it was back to the condo for lunch and naps. It rained off and on that afternoon as LB slept. We decided to go out to dinner that night-so that we wouldn't have to worry about cleaning dishes that night-as we were leaving the next day. The town was starting to get crowded due to the folk music festival going on starting Saturday. So we headed away from the downtown area for dinner. We went to the Canmore Golf & Curling club and ate in their dining room. The dinner was OK, but not what I thought it'd be like. I had salmon with a maple whiskey sauce and it was tasty, but a bit too sweet for me. There was a wedding reception happening at the club the next day, so the bride and her bridesmaids (and other assorted people) were there decorating.

After dinner we decided that LB could finally get the treat he'd thought was pretty cool all vacation long. In the downtown area there was an unusual ice cream shop. It was in an old school bus and called Old School Bus Ice Cream. So we headed into town and bought ice cream out of an old yellow school bus.

We walked around town for a bit while we ate ice cream, and I bought some yummy treats to share with our gaming groups. Then it was back to the condo, get LB to bed and start packing. We packed it all up and were ready to head out the next morning.
