The first week of school was, well, the first week of school. Schedules getting mucked with, kids getting mucked with, hard to do any major teaching with all that going on. Kids showing up on FRIDAY saying, "Hi, I'm in your class now." Despite all that, I did some teaching and the students did some learning, I'm not sure how much yet, but some.

Chem. took their first quiz on Friday, but I haven't hit the scantron yet so I don't know how they did. Physics has their first quiz tomorrow (I know, I know, after a three day weekend-evil, aren't I?-but it's only on conversions). AP Physics has theirs a week from Tuesday. But they've got LOTS more material on theirs!!

Chemistry classes are at maximum (the administration is still waiting to hear about getting another science position so that they can releive some of that pressure).

Physics classes are managable, at just about 30 each. And AP is at around 25 + my 5 independent study kids-all of whom I had last year.

It does seem-so far, at least, that my workload will be managable, unlike last year when it made me miserable. Hopefully I'll have time to relax and my typical work day won't look like this:
Get up, get ready to go, get LB up and ready to go
Get to work, work all day
Pick up LB
Go home, spend time with LB, eat dinner, get LB to bed,
Work for more hours
Go to bed.

Hopefully that work for more hours part will be only occasionally.

And a three day weekend, one week in is kind of nice. :)

OK enough from me. Good night.
