Once again, from the RevGalBlogPals

Reverendmother had a birthday this week, and while we've done the birthday thing before, I'm going to do my best to come up with new questions...

1. "It's my party and I'll [blank] if I want to..."
Favorite way to celebrate your birthday (dinner with family? party with friends? a day in solitude?)

It depends. I like to do something, but sometimes nothing happens. I like big gatherings, but they're also lots of work. I like smaller gatherings with the really important people too. Last year a small group of us went to Fair Oaks Pharmacy and Soda Fountain and I shared an ice cream sundae with Phil. I just really wanted that ice cream.

My in-laws' anniversary is the day after my birthday so we usually do dinner with them to celebrate both occasions.

2. "You say it's your birthday... it's my birthday too, yeah..."
Do you share your birthday with someone famous?

The exact date (year too) is shared with Malcom-Jamal Warner. Then there's the list, I'll pick a few. Martin Mull, Robert Redford, Roman Polanski, and Mariwether Lewis (who, BTW, would be 232 years old-I find it amusing that they list that)

3. "Lordy Lordy look who's forty..."
Milestone birthdays:
a) just like any other birthday--they're just numbers, people.
b) a good opportunity to look back/take stock
c) enjoy the black balloons--I'll be hiding under a pile of coats until the day is over
d) some combination of the above, or something else entirely.

Mostly (a), but the big 30 was an excuse to throw one heck of a party. 35 was no big shakes. I doubt 40 will bug me, but we'll see.

4. "Happy birthday, dear... Customer..."
Have you ever been sung to in a restaurant? Fun or cringe-worthy?

5. "Take my birthday--please"
Tell me one advantage and one disadvantage about your particular birthday (e.g. birthday in the summer--never had to go to school; birthday near Christmas--the dreaded joint presents)
EDITED TO ADD: This could also simply be something you like/dislike about your birthday (e.g. I like sharing a birthday with my best friend, etc.).

Birthday in the summer which was good and bad-never had to go to school, because even summer school was over in mid August, but then again, many friends were on vacation for the summer so birthday parties were poorly attended. In the district where I work, they're slowly moving the calendar back-which is a good thing, but I think that eventually I may have to work on my birthday which will likely make me somewhat sad, but oh well, them's the breaks.
