Yesterday evening, Phil and I went to see a LA Galaxy game at the Home Depot Center. We were treated to the owner's box along with food and drinks. At Staples, the boxes seem so far away from the field. That is not the case at HDC. I felt like I was right there, not on top of the players, but it was easy to see what was going on.

I spent the first (scoreless) half of the game sitting right on the midfield line. The second half was spent a few feet off that line, but still quite good.

The Galaxy was the first to score and then Toronto evened it up. But then the Galaxy scored again on an absolutely beautiful goal.

The game was great, I'm excited to be able to go to more games next season. (YAY!! Thanks Lee)

I went with a group of teachers and teacher spouses from school. It was nice to see them in a different context, but I was a bit disappointed that some of them seemed to be there not at all for the game. If they weren't interested in the game, they should have opted out and let those who were interested in the game itself go. A small group spent most of the evening glued to the TV with the Red Sox game on instead.

But overall, LOTS of fun!! The Home Depot Center is really nice and we hung around long enough after the game to avoid the nastiness of traffic on the way out of the parking lot.
