New Year - New Cause(s)

I will get straight to the point. Here in the UK we have a new government - an unholy combination of Conservatives and Liberal Democrats. Nobody voted for these two parties to form a government, people voted for the Conservatives or the Liberal Democrats as separate parties with separate policies, not some whoreson combination of the two.

Some of us voted for other parties, but that is not my bitch today; there are winners and losers in every election but when you vote, you vote for known party with known policies, not some unknown combination stuck together in closed rooms after the election result is known. We have, as a voting population of a so called democracy, been well and truly stitched up, and I think it is wrong. Wrong not just because both Conservatives and Liberal Democrats have grabbed power when in truth what we should have had was another election until one party or the other got a clear majority, but because, as usual, they got away with it. The great English Parliament has its first coalition government since WWII. It will be, as are all coalitions, a disaster. How large a disaster we are beginning to discover.

So this blog, amongst other things, will continue to point out that once again, our corrupt collection of politicians is rapidly going to run out of anything resembling public support, and it is no consolation that probably the first people to suffer will be exactly the same people who voted Liberal Dimocrat as they lose their jobs and homes and futures on the altar of Conservative Cuts.
