I had a bunch of cute titles for these tidbits, but they all seem too short to put into separate entries, so I'll title each bit instead...

Bed

LB has a new bed, it's the brekke from IKEA. It looks like this:

well, mostly like that, but with blue sheets instead of pink, and all the drawers pushed in. He helped us put it together last weekend. He seems to like it just fine.

Dwarfed

See above about bed. But it's SO big compared to his crib that he looks TINY in it. It's cute, but weird too.

Thud

Any of you with kids can tell where this one is going, right? We opted not to put a rail on the bed, figuring that it wasn't that high and wasn't really necessary. He napped in the bed just fine Sunday during the day. Then, Sunday night I'm in my office and I hear a thud and think, "what was that?!?" and then the crying begins. He'd fallen out. He was easily calmed with mommy and daddy hugs and kisses and happily went back to sleep in the bed. Hasn't fallen out since either. I guess I now believe people who tell me that EVERY kid falls out of bed once!!

Trained

He seems to have taken quite well to the whole potty training, he's not had an accient for over a week now. We don't have to bug him about going, he tells us when he needs to go-well, mostly. Last weekend he was downstairs with daddy and got a sort of scrunched look on his face and then said, "must stop pooping" which caused daddy to run him upstairs and get him on the potty where he pooped.

His day care provider says that in a few weeks we'll probably start to seem some accidents, I'm guessing because she puts him on and doesn't wait for him to ask and with younger kids, the transition from being put on and asking to go is tough. But LB asks to go now (especially when we're out and about) so hopefully it won't be an issue.

He still sleeps in diapers though, and I think that transition might be difficult, but I'm pretty sure he differentiates between wearing undies and a diaper, but we'll see.

Cutie Pie

Mom: Are you the best cutie pie ever?
LB: NO
Mom: Are you the second best cutie pie ever?
LB: Yes
Mom: Who is the best cutie pie ever?
LB: My Daddy.

Now say it with me... AWWWWWW!!

Not Hungry

While there was still food on his plate last night-and food that he likes, he says, "My stomach is..." long pause here "not hungry any more." and he pushes his plate away and himself back from the table. Good to know that he listens to his body.

Growth

After MONTHS of people telling us how he was getting bigger, this month when we measured him, he had actually gotten taller-maybe the growth spurt did finally hit-he'd certainly been saving up for it in the eating department. His appetite has slowed down a lot recently. He's not surviving on air just yet, but it's much less than it was. Tonight's dinner was two small flour tortillas and some milk, he didn't want anything else.
