I could write today about the reversal I'm feeling (negative, negative) about fiction writing, but it's too early for that, so I thought I'd give you a timeline of a somewhat typical writing day--yesterday's.

7:10--a little late start. Hit the office and checked e-mail and wrote out my to-do list.
7:35--shut down, got breakfast, kids off to school, took Frodo for a walk.
8:55--back at computer. Checked e-mail, worked on novel.
10:00--stared in on Medicare article--determined to finish a draft today
10:45--shut down, headed out to run errands--parks & rec, credit union, drop off video, ate lunch at Chicago Brothers
11:45--home again, took Frodo for another walk
12:00--back at computer; check e-mail; work on Medicare article
2:00--take a break, check mail, let Frodo out
2:15--blog, check e-mail (I do this a million times a day)
2:40--interview with medical writing guy re. contract writing job--went well, might turn into decent paying regular work
3:00--back at Medicare article, finish draft around 3:25
3:30--rewrite day's novel production; receive e-mail from Irene about how much she likes Bad Intentions, but also has some comments that annoy me about Serpent's Kiss; still no word on contract negotiations
4:00--kids home, check to see how day went and whether they have homework
4:10--back in office, start research markets; sent out 5 queries; unfortunately, one of them doesn't have an accurate e-mail address, and it got returned to me
5:25--end of the writing day; time to go and start dinner

Best,
Mark Terry
