Well, I've wrapped up the re-write of The Devil's Pitchfork, got my hardcopy, made the file copies on CD and disk and am packaging it up to send to my editor at Midnight Ink. This part of novel writing, etc., gives me nerves. Is is perfect? Did I miss something? Should I go back and re-write it for the 20th time? Maybe a little more research.

Like sending your babies off to school, although I had more confidence in my kids than I do in that manuscript. Go figure. I'm sure it's fine, the editor will love the changes, and any touch-ups it might need--and it probably won't--can be handled during layout and from a galley. My lips to god's ears, anyway.

Bye-bye, baby. You're ready.

Mark Terry
