I'm working remotely because I'm attending the Annual Meeting of the Association of Genetic Technologists in Kansas City. I've got a great room at the Westin Crown Center, but I'm going slightly berzerk because although there's wi-fi in the boardroom and the lobby, I don't have a connection in my room. So I'll be sporadic this week.

I'm deeply jealous, though, because I received a newsletter from the International Thriller Writers, Inc., of which I am an "original" member, meaning I joined in their first year. The newsletter covered the ITW party at the recent Book Expo in New York City, and it looked like a hell of a lot of fun, with tons of great, famous thriller writers (and a bunch nobody knew) and a bunch of agents and editors. And, dammit, I wish I'd been there. I probably would have been crabby-as-usual if I actually had been there, although maybe not, it looked like fun. I'm very impressed with ITW, and they seem to be really focusing on promoting writers and the thriller genre. Amazing, huh?

Well, it's time to grab some breakfast and get set up for this meeting.

Best,
Mark Terry
