My postings here are going to be more sporadic. I'm not going cold turkey, but I am weening myself off of blogging, or trying to. I recently picked up another regular editing gig and an old client starting a new mag called me regarding five short news pieces between now and November 7th and I seem to have 7 or 8 regular clients, plus the novel I'm working on. The point being, I want to concentrate on paid writing. I've got a guest (also non-paying) column that should be on the Reel Life with Jane website (www.reellifewithjane.com) soon and that sort of reinforced the notion that although some nonpaying writing is okay, you can waste a lot of time doing it. Perhaps this was reinforced by the fact that I spent most of Sunday working when I probably should have been loafing. So, another Rotary Club talk today, three deadlines this week, work on the novel, queries, setting up interviews for a number of other articles, pulling together the new editing gig (Searchlight, for the AIDS ReSearch Alliance), promoting Dirty Deeds, family, life, work... busy.

Best,
Mark Terry
