Allow me to be profound for a few seconds. Each of us has exactly the same amount of time ahead in 2006. 365 days made up of 24 hours, each hour 60 minutes long, each minute 60 seconds in length. How you choose to use that time is completely up to you. Here are a few ways I hope to use some of my time:

8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 50 or so weeks of the year spent on my writing business. May spend more.

90 minutes a week, at least, spent at the gym.

7 hours a week, at least, spent walking the dog. Probably more.

5 to 15 hours per week spent writing fiction.

49 to 70 hours per week spent sleeping.

15 seconds a day kissing my wife. (We've been married 20 years in September and we dated 7 or 8 years before that. I turn 42 on January 7. You do the math. 15 seconds should be a minimum. How much time do you spend per day kissing your loved one?).

1 to 2 hours a day REALLY spending time with my kids. Really, interactive, listening time.

15 to 20 hours a week reading books.

A minimum of 90 minutes a week practicing Sanchin Ryu, and hopefully 180 minutes.

525,600 minutes in a year. You can never get them back once they're gone. How do you plan on using them?

Best,
Mark Terry
