Ya gotta love it. This glamorous writing life. Just imagine, seeing admiring fans, being on Oprah (in that weird big yellow chair), wearing jeans and a corduroy jacket with patches on the sleeves, knocking back scotch at tony bars, hobbing and nobbing with starlets...

Yeah, what esoteric weed have I been smoking?

I'm looking at the yellow steno pad on my desk that has my to-do list on it.

1. write Templar/Berry profile (scratched off)
2. intv. G Giles 2:00 (scratched off--hospital management article)
3. toilet intvs (yes, that's right, I'm working on an article about high efficiency toilets. Ah, the glamour)
4. mold intvs (checked off, not scratched off yet. I'm writing an article about mold aimed at plumbers. More glamour).
5. OP intvs (need to talk--one would guess for a short period of time--with a patient with ADHD)
6. Serpent (need to wrap up a re-edit of The Serpent's Kiss; I did, but I'm proofing it again)
7. Dancing (novel in progress; it's being backburnered)
8. cardio (note to go to the gym and spend some time on the treadmill getting my heart rate up--scratched off)
9. Pod Mgt intvs (for an article about electronic medical records, checked, not scratched off)
10. Pod Online intvs (article about obesity and podiatric patients, also checked, not scratched off. That means I got some set up, but not completed today)
11. JCAHO intvs (hospital management article interviews; conducted one so far; checked off, not scratched off)
12. library d-base (for promotional stuff)
13. queries (hardly necessary this week, considering how busy I am, but it's always on my to-do list)
14. 11 minutes (refers to a short story idea I want to write)
15. Pitchfork Synopsis (checked, but not scratched off. This just came in today. My editor at Midnight Ink wants me to create a compelling and clear synopsis and character list and description of The Devil's Pitchfork, about 10 to 12 pages long, to give to the sales staff to help focus their efforts. I'm working on it).

Damn, I'm a busy but lucky bastard.

Best,
Mark Terry
