Here's a glimpse of yesterday.

6:25. Finally drag my ass out of bed. Watch news as oldest son gets ready for school.

6:55. Shower, etc.

7:20. Hit office. Check e-mail & blogs.

7:50. Wake up youngest son. Fix breakfast for us.

8:30. Walk the dog.

9:00. Back in office. Check e-mail. Write mini-review for ITW Newsletter of "Gone" by Jonathan Kellerman. Send.

10:15. Head off to the gym. Workout--legs & abs on Wednesday. Good workout, surprisingly.

11:30. Home. Fix lunch.

12:00. Office. E-mail.

12:15. Walk dog.

12:45. Author David Skibbins calls just as I walk back into office. I interview him for ITW newsletter bit. Great conversation. Good guy, good writer.

1:00. Transcribe interview.

1:20. Makes phone calls to set up interviews.

2:00. Make a couple queries.

2:30. Pick up oldest son at school.

3:00. Back home, have interview with guy from Michigan OSHA office.

3:30. Transcribing interview when woman calls to do interview for a different article. Have a hard time setting up interview time, so I do the interview then.

4:00. Receive e-mail from ITW newsletter editor, Kathleen. I decide to hack out the Skibbins piece to get it out of the way. Easy and short. Send it out.

4:40. Back to transcribing OSHA interview.

5:15. Transcribing woman's interview.

6:00. Put chicken in oven, take dog for short walk.

6:20. Back home, flip chicken. Set table. Read USA Today.

7:00. Eat dinner. Do dishes.

7:30. Have youngest son read to me for 20 minutes.

7:55. Grab laptop, turn on TV to "Bones," and work on novel-to-be-named later. Also get caught up in "negotiations" online with interview subject for an article about invasive tree roots, about whether he'll agree to be interviewed or not and under what conditions. (Weird).

9:00. "Bones" is over and I wasn't paying enough attention. Shut down laptop. Turn off TV. Get kids to bed. Sprawl out with book to read.

10:00. Bedtime.

Best,
Mark Terry
