Sometimes you just gotta go ahead and push through it. I'm probably about 30 to 50 pages from the end of the-novel-to-be-identified-later, and I'm changing how I write. Usually I'm pretty meticulous--write a chapter, print it out, rewrite it with multi-colored felt pens, makes changes on computer, print out, move on.

But not uncommonly, I'm anxious to get to the end of it, so I'm just cranking it out. Part of it is excitement. Part of it is an urge to be done with the creativity part and to work on the polishing part, so I can get it to my agent and she can hopefully work on the marketing/selling part.

Some of it is there's so much going on that it works better for me to try to write this in bigger chunks so I can keep the momentum up.

Today I wrote about 15 pages.

Hopefully I'll be done with the first draft by the end of the week.

Best,
Mark Terry
