I could not have ever imagined how thrilled I would be after going to the rehersal tonight. The excerpt of my fantasy is only about 10 pages long. It contains three characters within those ten pages. So at rehersal were the actors responsible for bringing Val, Kris and Delia to life, the director responsible for making that happen, and the writer responsible for being crazy enough to dream it up in the first place.

I'm so jazzed right now about the experience that I won't sleep for an hour.

Actors truly bring the characters to life. They're not just parroting what they see on the page, but inferring a past, expressing intent and adding a subtlety that made these scenes come alive. I've got ideas about what to change in a rewrite, I've got story threads for future episodes that I hadn't even considered, I've got the conviction that when we picked up shop and moved out here we did the right thing.

The actors only received the first 10 pages of my script. They all want to see the whole thing. Now I just have to hope that on October 11, their work in front of an industry audience gets me some work as well.

Today is a good day.
