Evening debrief

More secure

Tom and I met after work for the debrief on our meeting we didn't get to have at lunch. Dick joined us for this one. Fortunately, Tom is as surprised as I about Paul's slipping in as a cowriter. Tom feels that Paul just wants to be involved at some level. Rather than co-write, Paul may simply want/need to provide notes as the script progresses. His involvement may be more of professional consultant than scriptwriter.

So, after we hashed out what was said and what needs to be done, I directed Tom to go to Paul and specifically outline his involvement. Tom needs to come up with an agreement for the three of us, so if (when!) John gets funding and a greenlight, we have our ducks lined up to make a good thing happen.

I'll have to keep on Tom's case, I know, for him to get things done in a timely manner. I don't know how hard it will be, but I'll do it. I realized that I should get credit for this whole momentum. I'm the one who got the contact information for Paul, so that Tom could get the rights. I'm also the one who connected with John, who has the wherewithall to get things done.

Hmm. Sounds like I should be a producer.

Nah. That's too much work!
