Juggle, juggle, toil and work?

Mood:
Busy

It's not even 10am today, and in the last hour I've done more work on my career than my job, which is all well and good. I feel like a spider who is in the process of making a really splendid web, if only I could find the right anchors for the spider silk...

Directly through my supermentor class, I've hooked up with a group that meets on Thursdays. This group has got talent in all aspects of moviemaking, from acting to production.

One of the people in this group is looking for short scripts to produce, to make the film festival route. Ah, hah! I e-mail Peter (the director who has the short that I wrote for him) and see if he wants to get connected. Peter enthusiastically does, so I've contacted the producer and described the project and connected Peter to the Producer.

In updating Peter, I ask if he's already filled on of the female characters in the piece. Another person I met at the Thursday night group is an actress -- one of those people that is truly "good peoples" -- and I think she'd fit the part of Lisa quite well. It turns out that Peter hasn't filled the role, because he hasn't yet found the right actress.

So I immediately contact my actress-acquaintence to describe the character, see if she's interested, and ask her for a headshot that I can give to Peter.

Director, producer, actor. Connections that I hope take hold, so MOVING ON finally gets a move on.
