The Upfronts are done, and the networks have decided what series to put on the air in the fall. Now the staffing frenzy truly begins! (The Upfronts are when the networks try to sell shows to advertisers, and the shows that get the money get air time.)

Shows staff writers from the top down, meaning that right now they're making decisions on producer-level hires. Then they'll go to story-editor level, and finally baby writers (that's where I come in). So, it's time for me to pick up the phone again and call those places that have orders and try to get read.

Joy, rapture. The important thing is to get over it, and keep the goal in sight.
