My writing partner and I made significant progress and have completed our original TV spec sample. We've had some feedback from our original core group of readers, with stellar results. Now we're formulating a plan of action to get it out and read to places we'd like to be considered at for freelance work and for TV staffing.

I also made contact with a producer today, who wants to read MIND GAMES and FORK-TAILED DEVIL. He advertises himself as follows: After earning a BBA and MBA, I've worked in Accounting/Finance for the past ten years. I was also a working actor (commercials, VO, film, etc) for three years in Atlanta before moving to LA last year. After helping to produce (and write) some industrial films, I moved here to work as an independent film producer. Unfortunately, the quality scripts have certainly been few and far between. My finance experience and talent for networking don't really help me if I don't have a strong script to sell. I am willing to bust my butt for the right script, because I plan for this to be the start of a long career as a Producer..

We'll see what happens.

Last night, I attended a Women in Film director's workshop with Lilyan Chauvin. She's an actor, as well as a director, and I fell in love with her right away. The French accent may have helped, but she's very, very good at what she was doing. The workshop takes a scene, then the directors work with actors and put the scene together, then present it. Lilyan gave very good tips both on the technical aspects of directing as well as the people management aspects. I gave her a couple of sample scenes from Demo Reel Scenes to see if they might be able to use them in upcoming workshops. She said she'd look at them today, and let me know if they'll work or not.
