I'm now officially one of the staff writers for Return, the internet series produced by Second Penny Entertainment. The series will be 6 eps in length, and I have been assigned the second one (the producer wrote the first). This gives me a great opportunity to establish part of the universe, and gets my obligation out of the way. It should be available in March/April, if they stick to their production schedule.

The folks who met last night seem like a good, talented group of people who want to work. I chatted at length with a director who's looking to establish a relationship with a writer, and he likes my kinds of movies. We hit it off, he seems to be a nice guy, and he's been paid for his talents. However, that was a kids/PBS info show. He's doing this project to get back into features. So the possibility exists of a longer-term benefit from the project overall.

I'll be floating ideas for #2 at Laura (the producer) over the next couple of days, and get her a first draft (at most 7 pages) by the end of the year. Then I'll get notes, and if needed to a quick rewrite, and then it goes into production.

My skin's getting thicker -- I'll celebrate when it all falls into place -- but it's exciting nonetheless!
