Now that spring has graced us with "outdoor weather," Marcel and I thought to make good use of it before the next rain hit (today). In the last week we went rollarblading three times, hiking, and made our first seasonal appearance at Wreck Beach after a monster bike ride.

Marcel successfully completed his first year at Langara, a straight-A student up to now and if Langara sent out hardcopy grades, you can bet I'd have them refrigerator-magnetted all over every metal surface of the house. (We're sure is proud!)

Anyway, the hike was glorious. B & C took us to a small mountain that--not so you could tell from looking at it--had at least two meters of hard packed snow not half-way up. We braved it in shorts and Ts. What was expected to be a couple hours turned into closer to five. It was incredible up there, the sun glittering on the snow and the silence (the roadbikes had to turn around at the snow--HA ha!). We ended up at J & A's for veggie burgers.

Wreck Beach was packed with most of the usual crowd with a small scattering of tourists. Folk I'd seen late last summer sporting tans that would shame a coppertone model are now struggling to shed their winter ivory. We came howe with a few toasty bits as well. The sun was warm enough to bask au naturel, but there was just the edge of chill that made going in the water a might fobidding.

Sent off "Fragmented" again after shaving off a good 1000 words even with the additions. Got "Sub-Tracks" back from OnSpec. A rejection letter, but one with a wealth of commentary hand-written by the guest editor, Steve Mohn, so it felt like a half-win.

In appreciation for assisting througout the school year, Marcel got me (us) the DVD collection of Firefly that the Enigmans and PvP Online have been raving about--no wonder. We watched the first episode last night. It's all I can do to keep from committing DVD infidelity by watching the next episode right now without him.

No, not really. I would never do that! Besides, I have too much chemistry to study before yoga tonight.
