Marriage is love.

Three sermons in 24 Hours...an exercise in exhaustion...

Sunday morning...regular Sunday sermon from the lectionary...

Sunday night...sermon on Acts 10 at a service in town in celebration of National Coming Out Day...

Monday morning...sermon in the memorial service of a charter member of the church, a lovely, gentle woman who I never knew free of Alzheimer's...

Add to that teaching a Sunday school class, a gay men's chorus rehearsal, a graveside service, a hospital visit with another charter member in her final decline, a long home visit with a pain stricken nonagenarian charter member who is a bit overcome by the loss of one friend and the impending loss of another, overseeing a neighborhood/police gathering, a weekly theological reflection meeting with my seminary intern, an emergency hospitalization of the chair of worship with chest pains, tending to custodial matters as our dear 78 year old custodian blew out his knee on Saturday, and hand holding with a family who is upset about a recent decision of the session to be more open in our welcome of LGBT folk (a gutsy move on the south side)...the last 72 hours have been a whirlwind...and exhausting...

In time, I hope to reflect...right now, I just hope to survive...

Up early to plan worship for Sunday as the church secretary is off tomorrow...and I have a big presentation to make at Presbytery on Saturday...and three meetings today...

Small Church Ministry...never a dull moment...sometimes, never a free moment...

Peace Out...
