The flight from LAX to JFK passed without incident. Coming in to JFK, we flew rather near the Statue of Liberty, close enough to tell what it was, although from our altitude it appeared to be only a few millimeters tall.

This public Internet terminal is driving me crazy because its keyboard does not respond well to my typing efforts. I have to go find the Icelandair terminal now. Hey, wait...I could access their web site from here to locate it... maybe.

This terminal won't allow me to access my e-mail because it works like WebTV in allowing only one window open at a time, and my e-mail system needs a second window. Ah well. Off to find the other terminal. Getting there during this five-hour layover should not be problematical.

Appending entry, 6:30 pm local time on Sunday the 22nd.

The JFK to Rekyavik flight went fine - I took Sominex to help it pass peacefully. While waiting for it to kick in, and while eating their dinner of curried chicken, I had a conversation with the two people in the seats inward of mine.

They were a couple returning to Sweden from two weeks in the States. She is a Swede who works with mentally ill patients, and he is an Iraqi who distributes Swedish newspapers around Sweden. They had been visiting Graceland, via Greyhound, who lost all his bags, so he was returning home with just the clothes on his back.
