We were supposed to have Sunday off, but John asked me to give a talk about the open trenches at Hof, after he and some of the other project members lectured about other aspects of the work we're doing. Because of the late notice about this, and because some of the people planning to go to Akureyri with me didn't get in until 5:00am last night, we did not go.

Instead we drove a short ways south, to a local museum at Glumbaer, and hung out in their tea room eating Icelandic pancakes and sipping beverages while reading. I also took a nap in the car, and felt a cold coming on. So our day off wasn't very exciting.

There was also a great deal of needless car driving that didn't put me in a good mood.
