As I sit here and type, the wind howls outside! Oh, how it howls! Late this afternoon, after a promising morning, the wind and the water arrived. As a result, at one point, I was lying in the bottom of a trench making measurements while the rain fell. Crawling around in the trench resulted in a very muddy Ken.

We had to return to the college early today because there's some problem with the hot water and there won't be any after 7:00pm. So to get showers and hot tub time, we had to leave the field early. No one minded because of the deteriorating weather.

As for our work today, we studied and drew two 5m trenches, and worked out what we have to draw in two more. We should be able to finish them quickly tomorrow. That ought to complete the Glumbaer site, however our tephra expert's visit might result in some reinterpretation of some of our profiles that require us to make some changes or even rework some of them. We'll see.

Well... I do not want to miss the hot pot, so I'm off to get warmed up. Working outside in the wind and rain isn't really too bad as long as one is dressed for it, which we all are, but it's still nice to have a warm hot pot at the end of the day when that happens.
