I'm rather fond of my deepening crows feet. I remember reading somewhere that, before you turn 40, your face is a gift; after 40, it becomes the face you've earned. I like my crows feet and smile lines and think I'm on my way to earning a pretty darn good face.

On New Year's Day, I found my first two white hairs.

It threw me for a greater loop than I'd anticipated. After all, I was delighted to find a few white hairs in Shawn's head and thought it was pretty cool -- and, like I mentioned above, I like my wrinkles.

It's okay now. I've settled and am looking forward to more changes. It was just a little weird.
