There's an ABC News story which postulates that, in the past 20 years, white evangelicals "have become more attached to the GOP," with this past week's election showing a change in that trend.

Part of their evidence is that "almost a third of white evangelicals voted for Democrats" in Tuesday's election, as opposed to 2000, when only "30 percent voted for Gore."
