Well, I did the meeting about the 80's band. I left it open ended at the end because I wanted to think about it and run it by my wife.

But Terry is apparently very serious, he wants to practice once a week, which doesn't sound like too much unless you don't have much time to start with, he wants to learn all new material, and he wants to get to the point where we could play once a week.

I can't even sign on for the beginning of such a project to see how it goes; there is no way I can practice once a week. And I don't have a clue when I'm supposed to learn all these songs. And I never ever want to play every week. I don't need the money. I mean, I can always use more money, but not at the rate you make it as a musician. You put in a ton of hours per gig, not including practice time, just setting up and tearing down, not to mention playing, and you get a pittance. Maybe a couple hundred if you've got a pretty good paying gig. Usually considerably less. I'm not going to be in something like this for money; I would do it for fun. And if or when it interferes with family life and such, I'm out.

So I think I'll be out right away. I'm going to email the guys and let them know soon, so they can start looking for another musician if they want to.

I really want to get back into playing, but I don't think this is right for me.
