Good day for Chicago sports...

Hey, the first place Cubs will be playing the first place White Sox starting today. That may or may not be good news for the White Sox, though I believe the Cubs are far enough in front of their division that getting swept will still leave them in first place. The White Sox don't have that luxury - losing 2 of 3, will put them out of first if the Twins continue their hot play. (Losing 1 of 3 might be enough to knock them out of first...)

And last night, the Bulls took Memphis (and local HS Chicago Public League product) Derrick Rose to man their point position for the next few years with the number 1 pick in the draft. Though they did nothing with their second round pick (traded it to Denver for a future 2nd round selection and then packaged that pick with two others to Portland for a 7'0" Turkish center named Omer Asik, who will almost certainly remain overseas and not take up a roster spot at this time), getting Rose by itself makes it a great draft night for Chicago.

What else? No Bears or Hawks news, so this will have to suffice for now...
