The kid goes to work

Precious Babykins came to work with me today. I'm incredibly fortunate to have bosses who have zero problem with me bringing her to work when needed. Heck, even before I had Anna my captain told me I could just make a nursery in my office and forego daycare. Actually I think he was just nervous about me not returning after my maternity leave and thus wanted to be as accomodating as possible. Still though, there've been at least a half dozen times in the months since I've returned to work that being able to bring Anna to work has saved me from having to burn a vacation day. It also helps that the kid knows how to work a room, so everyone at work adores her.

I also finally figured out how to get the darn kid to actually swallow her antibiotics as opposed to holding it in her mouth and then spitting it all out. Eye droppers and syringes just weren't working, so tonight I tried this little nipple medicine thingummy that looks kinda like a pacifier but has a doohicky to put meds into. I wasn't sure it would work since Anna doesn't take a pacifier, but she sucked onto it with no problem and drank down every speck of her meds. Whew!

Tonight is the last night (hopefully) that we have to set the alarm clock for an ungodly hour to get up and give Precious Babykins a breathing treatment. She's going to daycare tomorrow, barring some sudden and bizarre turn for the worse, and we'll only have to do her treatments every eight hours. Meanwhile, I'm still coughing. I'm starting to feel like I am never going to be rid of this cough. Maybe when I can finally get some real sleep. Ha.

This day: 2001
