The kid at work

Daycare was closed today and so I had the kid with me at work. And using the word "work" is definitely a stretch since none of it gets accomplished when she comes in with me. It's truly awesome that my bosses have no problem with me bringing her in when there's no other option, because otherwise I'd have to burn a vacation day, which would suck. But at the same time I kinda wish I had gone ahead and burned the day because having her at work is a lot harder than having her at home, because at work I can't let her crawl around, I don't have all her toys, and naptime is pretty much impossible with all of the noise of the office. I managed to get her to take two ten-minute naps. It took longer to get her to sleep than she actually slept.

Have I mentioned how glad I am that Christmas is over? I really tried to have a good attitude about it this year, but it still ended up being a total stressball. It didn't help that the kid got sick right before Christmas which totally screwed up my shopping plans, so I ended up rushing around and fighting traffic and crowds at the last minute.

Speaking of the kid being sick, I took her back to the ped for her recheck. Her bronchiolitis is pretty well cleared up, but her ears are still inflamed so we're doing another round of antibiotics. The ped also heard me coughing (yes, the cough I've had for two months now) and told me I had the same thing as Anna and ordered me to get back to my doctor. I really am sick to death of coughing, and was planning on calling for an appointment anyway. Actually I was going to call today, but Precious Babykins wasn't very cooperative when it came to me wanting to do anything for me.

I guess at some point I should do one of those year-in-review things. Not tonight though.
