Hanging up the horns

NO MORE PUMPING!!!! WOOOOOOO!!!!

Yesterday was my first workday of no pumping. (I didn't pump on the weekend, but I don't really count that since I nurse her throughout the day and don't need to pump.) But I pumped on Monday and got a whopping ounce and a half for the entire day, which I decided was just not worth the trouble of shoving my tits into a vacuum. I brought my pump with me to work yesterday just in case I got uncomfortable, but never reached the point where I felt I had to pump. Woo!

Today, I left the damn thing at home. What freedom! I didn't have to spend ten minutes last night washing pump parts and bottles!

So, I have about 60 ounces still in the freezer, and I am going to start slowly introducing soy milk into the milk I send to daycare. Hopefully I'll be able to get her used to the soy by the time the freezer stash runs out. I'll still be nursing her mornings and evenings and weekends for quite a while longer (hoping to get to two years on that), but Holy Crap it's a relief to not have to pump anymore. I'm pretty pleased with myself; I did it for just under a year. And considering the utterly dismal breatfeeding rates in this country, I think I'm allowed to be proud of myself.
