I'm really sick of this whole disaster thing

Okay, so we have power, running water, hot showers. I took the day off of work yesterday and stayed home to clean the house and continue to de-stink the refrigerator. I think I have finally succeeded in that, which is a relief because I didn't feel like trying to convince the insurance company to buy us a new fridge. I attempted to clean out the freezer in the garage, but I realized quickly that Jack and I had made a serious tactical error. See, we had stuff all of our outside stuff into the garage, and so we couldn't get to the freezer for a while. So, we figured that we'd wait for the power to come back on, let everything refreeze, and then clean it out.

Yesterday I hauled the freezer out of the garage, opened it up, and realized that we'd had two big bags of ice in the freezer. Which had melted. And then frozen, thus trapping all of the freezer contents in a huge block of ice. The freezer is now out in front of our house, thawing. Sheesh.

We're still trying to finagle a way to get the luxuries of the civilised world known as television and internet. We missed the premier of House, and we're afraid that we're going to miss Desperate Housewives too. Bah.

Jack and I are going up to Shreveport this weekend to see Tulane play. I don't give a crap about Tulane, but I am looking forward to going somewhere that is not Disastered.
