Weigh & Measure #6

Okay, if it wasn't for the fact that I'm taking measurements and tracking my bodyfat, I'd probably be totally losing my mind right about now.

As it is, I'm only partially losing my mind. It's funny how unbelievably ingrained the number on the scale is in our psyche. Yes, the tape shows I'm shrinking. Yes, the bodyfat monitors show I'm holding less fat. But, dammit, I want to get below 170!! I only lost .2 fucking pounds. I've been excellent on my diet, I've been doing cardio every friggin day--an hour a day at the absolute minimum.

As I said--it's a good thing I'm not going by just the scale alone. According to my geeky calculations, I lost 2.5 pounds of fat, and gained 2.3 pounds of muscle last week. Seriously Not Bad. I also benched 130 on Saturday, which gives me hope that within another month or two I might be back up to my old max of 150. It's amazing how quickly the strength is coming back. The muscles definitely remember that they used to do a lot of work.

In five weeks I've lost over 4" off of my waist, almost 2" off of my hips, and over 4" off of my bust. I've gone down two sizes. I shouldn't complain.

[sniff] I just want to get below 170.
