Taking a look at those deadlines

I don't get sick all that often, but I've come down with the crud. Sore throat, fuzzy detached feeling. Oh well, on with the show.

Deadline Recap:

August 7th: deadline for the Strange Horizons workshop story. I got that done. I changed stories, though. Originally was working on a story I wrote during the two week coast workshop back in March of 2002, but I bogged down and then I had insight on my barber story, so I rewrote that. And I'm glad I did.

August 15th: deadline to have a story for the Denise Little workshop. Made deadline.

August 15th: deadline to have my novel done for first readers. Didn't make it and it's still not done. More on this later.

Sept 1: story deadline for the Write-O-Rama workshop for later in september. I made this deadline too. I pushed through the original story I had planned for Strange Horizons Workshop. I was still having problems with the story and getting motivated, but I did the best I could and sent it off. This story needs work. I probably should have redrafted it.

The word for September: Novel. And I know there are some story deadlines coming up--WOTF, SNW, and Polyphony. I think I can write for an hour on a short story every day while going through the novel draft.

This flu bug is puny. I can crush it.
