Day After Turkey

I seemed to have survived Thanksgiving without stuffing myself. X and I ate well at Martha's house. There were about seven of us there. We played a dictionary game where Martha (or Nina) picked a word nobody knew and we all would write down definitions. The goal was to match the dictionary's definition, but it was more entertaining to come up with off the wall definitions. Or definitions that sounded correct. You got points if you guessed the definition correctly. You also got points if the other players picked your definition as the correct one. The definitions were handed in without names written on them. For example, I couldn't keep a straight face when I handed in my slip of paper with my definition of PANDOUR: A male panda in dire need for copulation. I didn't know whether I was laughing because I actually came up with something funny, or because I was just trying to be funny. My definition was wrong, of course, and nobody picked my definition as the correct one.

When the game was over, however, there were three of us in the lead and I was one of them (X too--she was good). I wasn't clear if we had tied, but the points weren't important. It was just fun.

Writing. I wrote over six hundred words late in the evening on Wednesday. Thursday I wrote only 120 words before turkey. Today I wrote 584 words so far. I hope to do more.

I hope you were thankful and fed on Thanksgiving.
