Raising my fist to the weather this morning, and getting up at 5:30 am to do so, I hauled out the Panoscan gear and got a decent shot of the Shambles. Finally.

This shot will serve as my entry in the great Solstice Panorama Shoot, which will resemble the equinox shoot in most respects, except that participants are supposed to shoot World Heritage sites if possible. Mine's not on that list, although it's certainly a part of the local heritage. The solstice pano shoot should be interesting to see once all the entries have arrived. Watch for a link in the future, when they open the site to the public.

In addition to the Shambles, I shot outside the Minster, and then my iBook crashed once again. Can you say "want to throw the computer from the tallest Minster tower"?

On the St. Leonard's project this morning, they had me washing finds from another project for the morning, then teaching small-finds processing to the trainees in the afternoon, when it rained again. Nothing noteworthy appeared.

Here I am in my new apron, which I bought at the Royal Armouries for just this purpose, because last time scrubbing pots and bones resulted in my front being spattered with mud and water. The apron depicts a set of armour, and very effectively warded off direct hose spray that one of the trainees hit me with when filling a washing bin.

Today's snack: a marzipan candy bar and some Lindisfarne mead, which is rather tasty and extraordinarily sweet. Marzipan and mead. My, my, my.
