2004-09-28 5:12 PM Stupid people, please stand aside Mood: girly Read/Post Comments (2) |
Hey, Rob: Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. :) Finally! Jen and I had our long overdue girly day together. Of course, not soon enough. I had an interview this morning. So sad. If people want to hire someone fluent in Korean, then, da**it, the listing should say so!!! A** wipe. Anyhow, he went through the whole interview with me, leaving that small tiny little nuance 'til the end. *sigh* He is an attorney, I expected more from him. When will I learn?!? I think Jen and I had it right all along, expect people to be stupid. Then, be pleasantly surprised when we are proven wrong. Once in awhile I slip up and expect intelligence; only to be let down. So, once Jen picked me up, we headed to IHOP. Mmmmmmmmm - pumpkin pancakes... with bananas and coconut. Paradise combo and sub the pancakes for either Harvest Grain 'N Nut or the pumpkin pancakes, you will be so very happy. From there we headed to Burbank to a nail salon Jen and Rob found for some primping. Jen got a manicure and I got a pedicure. This way, Rob won't have to go by his lonesome to get a pedicure next week; he'll have Jen by his side. Geez Rob, it's not like you're insecure about your masculinity or anything... are you? LOL. Anyhow, she got a really nice pearly white on her nails. I went for more funky, as always. I got a dark shimmery purple on my toes... yep, to match my hair. For those of you "not in the know", I colored my hair straight black again, but put thin dark purple streaks through it. Love it. Parentals thought it was pretty cool. I think mom prefers the red, but likes that the purple is not as visible - especially with all the interviews I have the next two weeks (7 of them.) After the salon, we headed to Hollywood and Highland. I will say this - for the first time EVER, I bought stuff and Jen didn't. WOW!!! In Hot Topic, I got two very cool navel rings, one is a different version of handcuffs than the one I had made by the jeweler and the other is a swirly dangle thing (hard to describe) with a star at the end. Also bought a Happy Bunny t-shirt which declares, "Make The Stupid People Shut Up." So my attitude. Then, at Origins, I bought two body souffles, one Peppermint / Rosemary (for my feet at night) and one which is cinnamon, clove, and ginger for the massages I like to treat Rob with. Now he cannot complain about smelling girly, fruity, or flowery. Hehe. Jen and I checked out the Love Sac store, but there is concern her kitties will tear the sh** out of it if she and Rob get one. Very likely. She needs to go back with Rob and have him decide of the fabric is strong enough to survive their "children." Other than that, we checked out Sephora, but I became rather annoyed, so I think Jen left earlier than she really wanted to. Okay, I understand the need for bringing people form other stores to cover when people quit or call in. I don't understand the stupidity. Never will. (See reference above to Happy Bunny t-shirt.) I asked for a specific item. The Hollywood/Highland store does not carry it unless you buy a gift set with two things in it I will not use. I ask the girl if they sell it separate and are out of it, to which she replies, "Sephora has never sold it separately." Um, I'm so sorry, but I am asking if you have it separate because I have purchased it separately before - twice. I am not, apart from what she thinks, pulling this notion out of my a**. She tells me that no Sephora store has sold it separately before. *sigh* I explain that both myself and my friend, Pita, have purchased this item from other Sephora stores individually. I understand if they do not have it, but it IS, in fact, sold separate and apart form a gift set in other store locations. So, I then ask her if they carry the same thing, but in a different package - since they do have a "sample" one on display. She tells me no. They only have the "sample." Okay, fine. You would think that the newer larger Sephora would stay stocked on highly popular items. I refuse to digress back into the discussion of stupidity. Whatever. Jen and I decided to have a caffeine dose at Starbucks before heading back to my place. While sitting there, she called Rob. Rob apparently needs to lay off the caffeine. He left her a v/m speaking various animal tongues to her. Hrmm. Work getting to you much Rob? Maybe it has something to do with his work laying off people who are needed, dumping al lthe extra work on people like Rob, and forcing him to be there at 6am. Rob is a better person than I; I would tell them what they could do with that 6am. Unfortunate for him, he is salaried, so he doesn't even get overtime... Major suckage. Jen left here to go pick him up. I came in and sorted through some mail, the incoming bills, and got some stuff together for Friday night. *winks at Rob* All in all, Sephora ignored, it was a very fun day. I gave Jen some info on places to look for costumes et al and some info on upcoming events. I also gave her a flyer for Amoeba - she HAS to go there (preferably with me.) The Virgin Megastore ain't got nothin' on Amoeba. We also made plans, tentative as to content, for her upcoming B-Day... the big 3-0!!! Woo-Hoo!!! Tattoo, girly primping, who knows what else we can conjure up. We also plan to do Dungeon again, hopefully with Al. Also a new club I want to check out... The Dominion. Know nothing about it. Will have to research it. See? All that practice at researching during law school is NOT wasted. Think it has a website, in fact. Dunno. Will find out. Well, that about covers... everything. Got to go and return a call to Johnny. Never did recover his wallet. Totally blows chunks. I wholeheartedly believe in kharma, so whomever took it - you will get yours Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
